We added a good memory foam to the camper bed, helped tremendously with shoulder and hip pain.

Got a new really good bed a year ago with a pillow top (a Sealy...should have bought a Serta because they sponsor the USBCHA finals); John thought it was too soft at first but really likes it; Not good when I sleep on my stomach though, that is hard on the back.

The memory foam is a bit warm...but what is worse...that stupid mattress pad that has gortex in it..that makes me sweat!

In my research they say Laytex is better than straight memory foam but I was thinking like you. sounds really hot!

My parents have a temperpedic and they love it! She is the type of person who tends to get too warm and she said this bed does not make her too warm. I have a topper and I love it. I would get a mattress but just can't afford one.

Yeah, I tend to get hot when I sleep and I slept on a tempurpedic on a fairly warm night, and it didn't make me too hot. I loved it. Now to somehow switch mattresses with my friend when she's not looking...

I also have a memory foam in my trailer.....I didn't have onebefore but recently got one. I had a hard time sleeping...now I doze off in seconds and it's great.

I haven't changed the matteress as of yet. But I did start taking a gluco supplment 2 days ago. Maybe it's mind over matter but I swear my shoulders aren't hurting as much.
Sometime I slack off giving my old Jazzy girl her gluco (never miss her peepee meds) but after actually feeling the results I will be come diligent keeping her and my meds on track!

Thanks guys.
OMT...where did you find the quality foam toppers? I bought one from walmart last year for the camper. wasn't think enough to make any difference and how thick do you need for just a topper?

I would love to have a Tempur-Pedic mattress one day. For the last year I've been sleeping on the The NeckPillow by Tempur-Pedic and I LOVE it! I was having upper back pains from our not-that-old-but-too-soft mattress and after trying a number of pillows, I bit the bullet and paid $100 at Bath Bad & Beyond for this one. OMG, what a difference it made! My husband didn't like his, said it felt like a brick (it SO doesn't) so he got a different one, still with memory foam, but a different brand, and not a contour one, like mine.

It made such a difference in my back, I can't imagine sleeping on any other pillow from now on wink.gif

BTW it's this one:

I had a version of that pillow, got it from the chrio. I used to take it with me when I went out of town. Of course I ended up losing to a motel.
I have another version now, but not that expensive. I like it sometimes but not always.
I've been taking the Gluco supp. for most of this week. And I'm amazed, my shoulders are more than 50% better. I was a bit slack on giving it to Jazz all the time. But we're going to both keep up taking it now. Less pain is a huge reminder! Black Kohash is working for my other issues. I forgot once this week and that night I had hot flashes all night when taking BK I only have 1 or 2 a night.

Just a note on memory foam toppers. We tried that route first, but if you have a bed with dips and lumps, the topper will just conform to those dips and lumps. It does help a bit, but we still were waking up not well rested and achy. It was a 4" topper that cost about $200, so it wasn't a cheapy.
We don't have the issue with being too hot in the Tempurpedic, but then again we have a ceiling fan that might be helping that. We also have the Tempurpedic pillows and I would never use anything else again. They are heavy which is why some people don't like them, but I don't tend to bunch up my pillows anyway and they are great if you get stiff neck at night. Plus they came free with our purchase of the mattress.

Thanks a lot you guys.

I was vaguely thinking of getting a topper but I hate being hot in bed so that idea's out of the window.
