I've been training Mickey, a 3 & 1/2 month old BC mix, for my parents. Yesterday I started training him to ring a bell when he wants to go out, in case I don't notice him sitting at the door. My parents will definitely need something like that, because they might not notice him sitting at the door, which is in a little hall. So I worked with him for two 20 minute sessions, and now he rings the bell whenever he needs to go out. If I don't notice, he rings it louder. It works pretty well, except that he sometimes wants to go out just for a walk. Of course, he always manages to go at least a little.
