My Inbox is 64% full, but I really don't want to lose the messages I've received. :D Is there some way to save them? Probably something really simple...

Thanks in advance!
Pam

But how? You are dealing with a technophobe in my case, and I need things spelled out simply for even a remote chance at getting it right.

Thanks for the advice, JLJ. I actually used the "help" function and got the process, and did it successfully. Why didn't I realize that ages ago, when there were things I'd like to have kept but had to delete so I didn't fill up the box?

I have forgotten how to archive messages and I'm just not finding the "help" so please, some one, point me in the right direction - I'm lost!

So I found the "help" and did a search, and it said to archive but it didn't tell me how, and I can't seem to find any link (or whatever) to do it - and my box is almost full. Help...

Maybe I am missing something but I only was finding the Archive button when I went in to read each individual conversation. Am I blind (I know there are times that something is right in front of my eyes and I miss it but I've looked and looked)? I'll look again!

Dear Youngsters,

What's an "In Box"?

Donald McCaig

Haha, that explains that...I once tried to message you Donald, and found it impossible because yours was full. Probably still is ;) .

Oh yeah, it is your personal virtual postbox here on the site, if members send you a message privately, there is where it goes.
You can access it when you are logged in by clicking "inbox" next to your user name on the upper left in the screen.

Dear Donald - I tried to PM you through here and found your box to be full, like Smalahundur. You can click "inbox" like she said or messenger (at the top of the page, beneath the banner).

I'm just archiving, one at a time, since I have no alternative...but that's making me go through stuff I should have deleted long ago as well, so it's all good.

It is not really important Sue, but "she" is really a "he" ;) .

Whoops, sorry, sir!

There are so many women here and your "name" wasn't a clue, and I didn't remember seeing photos of you (lots of photos of the dogs), so I just went with the "she". Sorry for making an assumption!

Or I could have begged it off as a typo...

I would have also pm'ed you, Donald, except I know there is no way in Hades you'd consider this pre-novice sheepdog novice for a pup, and I have a good bit of sheep learnin' to do before I even start looking for a dog.

I figured I'd start pestering people if and when I am ever ready to do justice to a working pup. That's pretty much a long shot though.

It may be simple, but I'm still not getting it LOL. I found the archive button where you can send the conversation to your email address, but that doesn't appear to have any impact on your mailbox limit. I made an archive folder and learned how to move a conversation to it. Still no impact on the 50 msg. limit. I got nothin' left to try.

Anybody who admires these dogs feels, from time to time, unworthy of them. When a novice wishes that his.her dog belonged to someone better able to realize its potential, Patrick Shannahan says,

"Spot has the most important job any Border Collie can have. Spot is teaching you how to be a dog handler."

Those were my thoughts too, how is a novice ever going to learn this without an at least reasonably well talented dog with a good will to please his or her owner (even when the stupid sod makes silly mistakes from time to time).
-Looking thankfull at Gláma here-
