Moss Posted May 9, 2007 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2007 Thanks to everyone for your replies. Herdwicks are my all time favourite sheep. They are great for training young dogs on and are very hardy, and low maintenance. The dog in the photos, Rip, really does seem to have a calming influence on the sheep. He never upsets them and they do actually seem to quite like him The brown Herdwicks in the first set of pictures are what we would call hoggs (less than a year old), so I guess that would be the same as your meaning, "yearling"?
