Three weeks into Training and Thomas thinks He's brill

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Haven't been on here for ages sorry, but thought it a great place to share my excitement. I am so so proud of my boy!

He was filmed last weekend as part of a promotional for Thomas Longton. And Thomas says he is doing really really well.

He is miles ahead of my last dog at this stage and he is sooooooo willing to please. He has been a total joy since the day I got him and is also doing really well in all other disciplines. I am overjoyed and really excited that at long last I might get to actually train and trial my own dog. Thank you Connor for being a total star....

Here he is on Youtube

  • 3 weeks later...

That was such a pleasure to watch. I am new to stock work and the fact that the sheep just flowed from your dog like water was something I noticed right off.

I am about to take both of my pups, 16 mos. and 6 mos. to a trainer to see what they have. We have an appointment for three weeks away. I will show this vid to both of them just prior to leaving!!

Very nice! What's his breeding?

Hmmmm people always ask that and I never know how to answer. His mum is ISDS registered, but his dad though from working stock wasnt, so, therefore Connor isnt. THey both worked and he was bred by Ruth Harrison, Daughter of Andy Nickless, if that is of any help.

THanks everyone for your kind comments. Connor is still doing really well and has now learnt to look back and shed and single and yesterday he did his first drive of the sheep right past me. He s still doing really well, considering the ammount of training.... And I am chuffed to bits with him.

I am totally crap with a whistle though so it is me now that has to put in the time and effort to get better. I have a big voice, but there comes a point where I will need a whistle for more distance and that point is very nearly here.

I will try to get some more video of him and upload it so you can see his progress. RIght I better go wake him up - I can hear him snoring on my bed, walky time.
