Submissivness

This is the same young dog I've been working with. All along she's been a "roll on my back" kind of dog when you're petting the other dogs. I took her to a clinic last weekend and she "stomach crawled" from where she was to me when I called her to me. The lady leading the clinic said that it was a submissive thing. She's not OVERLY like this, but is there anything I can do to get her over some of this. Or is it something that I really shouldn't bother with as it's no big deal. She's not at all like this with other dogs, on the contrary it's quite the opposite. It appears that it's just with people.

If she's people sensitive, then probably the presence of the crowd at the clinic freaked her out a little. So it wasn't exactly submissiveness, but a reaction to perceived unwanted pressure from her surrounding, unfamiliar environment. As she goes to trials and gets more socialized, she'll get over it. But you just need to be aware that she's sensitive and try not to put her in pressure situations (from her viewpoint) unnecessarily.
