CRoper
I am wondering where larger nursery trials are held in US. I am in Texas and it seems like at some of theTSDA trials there are barely 5 entries in the trial. Can anyone recommend Some larger nursery trials ? I Appreciate your input. Cynthia P
The Bluegrass usually has 25 or so entries, lexington KY area; When the Canadians were held at Grass Creek in Kingston ON we had about 20 entries. Those are the only ones I've been to with large nursery entries Cynthia
juliepoudrier
Agreed on the Bluegrass. Depending on where you're located, you might find larger entries as the year-end approaches if the finals are in your vicinity (that is, I would expect to see some larger nursery entries in late spring/early summer here in the east as people try to get nursery dogs qualified for this year's finals in VA). Sue R
The Bluegrass has traditionally run four separate Nursery classes, one each day from Wednesday through Saturday, with a sizeable entry (as noted above) each day. Not that many people seem to run Nursery dogs and it seems to me that it's most often a matter of trying to find the requisite number of entries so that one dog may get a qualifying placing (top 20% of class, which means a minimum of five dogs for the winner to get a qualifying placing), at least here in the East. SGoracke
Thank you for your feedback. It is likely that the number of dogs running here in TX will increase starting with the Feb trials and all the way thru July. It is still pretty early in the trial season and not all dogs are ready to hit the road yet!
