silhouettestable
With all the discusson about where/how to go about getting a pup, I'd like to ask for some information before I get another. I've been currently looking at rescues and classified ads, but the rescues I've made contact with have either not replied to my e-mails, or else the dog I'm interested in has already been adopted. So, here's the situation. I do live on a small farm, although I don't suppose you would technically call it a "working farm". We have horses and poultry. I am looking for a dog more for pet/companionship reasons than for working stock, and we are very active with our dogs. We are just starting to become involved in agility, going to give flyball a try, plus we've started our dogs dogsledding. To fit in well with our family and the 2 dogs we currently have, I would prefer a young pup, but would be willing to consider up to about 18 months if I feel it would be a good fit. We currently have a collie and a border collie x lab (love him to bits and would be more than willing to consider that mix to adopt) So, suggestions please? If I decide to go to a breeder, what are the type of questions I should be asking?
Jo&Tex
Hi Since you're in Minden (I'm from Huntsville, now living in northern Ont.) You might want to check with Moosonee Puppy rescue located in Bracebridge. They rescue dogs from First Nations communities in far northern Ontario and I know they recently had some BC/Lab pups come through.
