Please consider supporting the 52nd Annual Bluegrass Classic SDT, one of the oldest, largest, and most prestigious stockdog trials in North America. It will be held at beautiful Masterson Station Park from May 15-19. Admission is free and there are concessions on-site.

Two Open trials are held, one on Wednesday and Thursday, and the second on Friday and Saturday. The twenty top combined scores produce the teams that compete on Sunday in the Double-lift, International Shed Final. Winners in recent years have included Alasdair MacRae and Star; Tommy Wilson and Sly; Roy Taber and Craig; Scott Glen and Pleat; Lyle Lad and Cap (three-time winners). This trial offers the opportunity to compete against the very best that North America has to offer. Handlers from all over the United States and Canada come to run their dogs on a huge course that features Texas range sheep, and a level of challenge that is limited to few trials in North America.

Concurrent with the Open trials are the Nursery (four days), Ranch (two days), Pro-Novice (two days), and Novice-Novice (two days) classes that run on the second field, providing the opportunity for less-experienced and younger dogs, and less-experienced handlers to compete, as well.

Enjoy being a part of the Bluegrass either by spectating (admission is free and bleachers aare provided, plus you can bring your own seating or blankets to spread on the lawn); volunteering (here is the link and no experience is necessary for many jobs); or purchasing an ad or sponsoring a class (here is that link with the details).

You can choose to sponsor a class or you can purchase a half or full page ad to honor a dog or handler or team; to thank a mentor; to memorialize a dog; to promote your company or product; or to simply be a part of the support team for one of North America's best stockdog trials and a showcase for these great dogs and their marvelous abilities.

A trial of any size takes a great deal of work on the part of many people. A trial of this caliber requires the support of numerous volunteers plus those who help contribute financially. Please be a contributor to the 2013 Bluegrass Classic Stockdog Trial! Contributions are tax-deductible.

In addition, the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival is held on May 18-19, just a few hundred yards away, within Masterson Station Park. It is an outstanding festival with all that you expect from a top-notch fiber festival, including fiber animals of many species, and materials and crafts for purchase for your own use. Their information is found here. Your weekend visit can include both watching National Champions at their best and enjoying the fiber arts at their best!

PS - While a few of the website pages do say "2012", the other information is up-to-date and relevant to this year's trial.
