Guest Heather
Hi, Everyone: Much as it pains me--I hate change--it's time for a new LittleHats expert. I'm sure we all agree that Carol has done a fabulous job, and we'll miss her a lot. But softening the blow is the fact that we're lucky enough to have a great new expert: Albion Urdank. Here's what Albion writes by way of introduction: **** I teach British and European history at UCLA and have been there since 1985, with a specialty in 18th-19th century rural social history. I have nine BCs, the oldest 13 (my first dog, Bart) and the youngest, Kep, just 2 years in august, a nursery dog. My lead trial dogs are Corey, Female, 8 years in December, out of Leory Goetz's Mike and Sweet (North Dakota) and Maeve, female 6 years, out of my own breeding (Bruin {J. Battles imported Nap x imported Fly) and Tessa (T. Parrish's Rhys and Sis); both Bruin and Tessa are retired, were my lead dogs for a few years, and trial now only occasionally. I've been trialing about eleven or twelve years, and have been to the Nationals several years running. I trial as much as I am able, hitting major trials outside of California, such as Meeker in Colorado, Le Bar in Wyoming, and most recently Soliders' Hollow in Utah. Although I work in Los Angeles, I live in rural Riverside County on a five acre ranchette with about 40 head of sheep, and am surrounded by open fields that I can make free use of as well. My web page at work is at www.history.ucla.edu and it gives a few more details (though my picture isn't particularly great). **** Let's fire away while Albion is still enthusiastic! Guest Carol Campion
Let me be the first to welcome you Albion as I graciously hand over the official "Chats" pen to you. To the readers, thanks for giving me the opportunity to think through my training techniques by addressing your questions. To Heather, you still need a pat on the back for keeping this going. And again to Albion, don't be modest—be sure to tell them all about your recent trip to Scotland and your success on the trial field there! Best wishes...
