Eileen Stein
"This is the second part of a three-part database of people who are willing to transport rescue dogs. If you want to be included, please post to this thread, and your information will be taken from your post and placed under the appropriate state heading below. nancy
Well, I say travel of one hour. But longer is possible with advanced notice. I just don't feel comfortable driving more than 2 hours straight - I think my driving suffers. But, if I were going where I could hang out a while, or even somewhere where I'd like to stay overnight, I could do two hours each way. And, then again, with the right incentives (and that could just be the dog involved), I could get DH involved. That doubles the distance. BTW, were I asked to transport to the Worcester, Massachusetts area - or the Atlanta, Georgia area - I could consider Durham NC to there. I have kids I'd like to visit in those areas. Would be a good excuse.

I drove transports in the past and it seems much more active in the winter, for whatever reason. I haven't seen or heard anything ever about any Border Collies going through. Just in case this information is helpful to anyone, there are other volunteers networked for transport. The person I had dealt with in the past was Nancy V., from the yahoo message boards on transport. She is taking a break from arranging transports but still drives.
