Be mindful that removing dew claws is quite painful and not a minor surgery. You are in fact amputating a toe, even if the toe is not entirely functional. I think my girl has inured hers today. Claw is in tact, but it does appear to be bent backwards. Took a while to notice it, and I think shes done it chasing her ball in the garden. She doesn't let me near it at the moment, but normally loves a leg/foot massage She has looked uncomfortable with it when lying down, but will still pester you to throw a ball.
