I recently acquired a 4 volume set of books about animal life.  "Wonders of Animal Life"  Edited by J.A. Hammerton.  The Waverly Book Co. Ltd., London.  No pub. date, but most people put it at around 1930.  Here's a few of the more interesting pics.

Fascinating! Thank you for sharing, although my heart aches at the photos of dogs in a war they could never understand.

I'm curious what the author's thoughts at the time were regarding the question "Do Animals Reason?" in the one caption.

I just received the books, leafed through them, scanning pics.  Haven't read much text, but that article is one bookmarked for reading.

Thank you I did enjoy it.  And find myself in overall agreement with the writer.

Definitely a good find for you!
