Hello there, I'm new here and should have been a member 3 years ago!

Never said she was hiding behind me. She would stand next to me watching the other dog, fully confident. Never chased dogs off but put myself between them to prevent an aggressive situation. Jade was not afraid of any animal, would often have encounters if left unattended. A neighbor down the road has three dogs. Whenever our paths crossed, their dogs would be loose and in a pack mentality. You have to be careful in situations. I used this technique mostly to get along with other people I encountered in the woods. My wife use to complain about Jade when she went for walks. She didn't understand. She almost wanted Jade and the other dog to play. I had to convince her that Jade was not interested. Once she called Jade over and let passers by, no more encounters.
