CalamityJess
I just joined, so Hi everyone! A week or so ago, we had to let our GSD/Malamute mix go. The house was far too empty without him. Then I saw a local shelter had a litter of what they were calling Collie Mixes. As soon as I saw this face, my head yelled "Border Collie". My husband and i had always talked about getting either an Aussie or a Border. We love high energy, high personality, high intelligence dogs. So when a day after our Shadow passed, I saw this guy's picture I took it as a sign that it was time. That maybe the passing of one much loved dog, meant they were making room for one that needed a spot in our home. It worked well with our Boykin Spaniel mix when we adopted her shortly after our GSD Daisy passed. So anyhow, we adopted Brody, the first time we have ever adopted a dog this young. He's 9 weeks old. Mocha (the spaniel) has taken to him well, in the week we've had him he has stunned me with his ability to learn. He was 6 pounds when we adopted him at 8 weeks old, as of today at 9 weeks he is 7lb 8oz. He has a big attraction to feet, and is learning "no" very quickly...lol No plans on herding or anything like that with him. We just want to love the little guy and have a smart, active companion. CalamityJess
Welcome and congratulations on adopting Brody. He is a cutie. Thanks! He knows it too. He's currently having a tantrum about the Kennel, counting on his sad howling and...yodeling? combine with his cute face to get him out of what he clearly believes is puppy prison.
