Gidget has come so far in the 3 months she has been with us!

Recommended Posts

Gidget has gone from a scared little rabbit, to a confident little tyrant, And now a well pretty well behaved young dog! No more cat stalking, the cat is much pleased with this! She will come out and chill in the house now that Gidget ignores her. :)

She listens so well, she will sit, stand, lay, stay, come it is so awesome! She has learned so much come so far! We still have work to do, we will keep up with all the training adding little things along the way. Taking slowly not throwing too many things at her at a time has always been my plan.

At the moment our biggest issue is getting her to pay attention when other dogs are around, mainly dogs that she knows. So that is our focus rite now.

On a happy note, she SITS to greet our company! She sits and allows people with strollers to pass us while on walks, She leaves things alone as told even if it is food! (with exception of ribs sitting on a platter on top of the oven that is still a work in process) She no longer tries to go say hi to everyone she sees on walks, She now comes to me when called, she no longer barks none stop at people passing the house! She is really getting there! No problems with all she is learning in service training. AND she is so much less hyper! When she gets too energetic I can get her attention, and calm her rite down!

It amazes me when I look back at the first couple of weeks thinking this was going to be close to impossible, In such a short time she has surpassed my expectations. I really don't mind all her puppy energy or how she will try to get one over on me any chance she gets. Shes young and smart! I think Id be worried if she easy to work with lol. She knows she may be younger but she is not going to win the out smarting game. :)

It is always good to hear about these positive transformations given that a lot of the threads, and naturally so, deal with solving some type of issue. It must be especially gratifying for new owners to hear that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Everyone here has been such a positive help to me, I was overwhelmed with this little girl yet determined to help her, train her and keep her. Many times I thought about giving up. I will admit in the beginning I thought I couldn't do it, the pain I went through teaching her not to pull and tug on the leash was much more then I could handle, but I was bound and determined not to give up on her. Now she and I have this wonderful relationship, a bond if you will. I love this crazy little dog so much.

It's not just her behavior, it' all of her. She is starting to fill out, her fur is growing and it shines! The vet said that she is starting to catch up from being malnourished, and she is maturing. I think everything is going to be ok for her and I. We have a long way to go in her training, but their is no rush, Shes still a pup and is going to be aloud to be a puppy.
